Who this is for

Built for students who want to do the work and get results for it.

Ascend Academic works with Years 7–12 students across Sydney who want more than generic homework help. Sessions are built around your school's actual assessment schedule and marking criteria, with the accountability to make sure the work between sessions actually happens.

Whether a student is aiming to lift a Band 3 into a Band 5, or push a strong Band 5 into a Band 6, the approach is the same: identify exactly what's costing marks, fix it, and practise it under exam conditions.

Years 7–10

Foundational content mastery and study habits, so senior years start from a position of strength rather than catch-up.

Year 11 Preliminary

Building the content base and exam technique the HSC course will be marked against.

Year 12 HSC

Trial and HSC preparation, essay and short-answer technique, past-paper practice, marking-criteria breakdowns.

Why Ascend Academic

What makes the tutoring itself different.

Marked against the actual criteria

Every piece of feedback is benchmarked against NESA marking criteria and your school's specific assessment style, not generic advice.

Accountability between sessions

Set tasks, checked at the next session. Improvement happens in the work done outside the room, not just inside it.

Direct, honest feedback

Students are told exactly what's costing marks, clearly and constructively, rather than generic encouragement.

Exam technique, explicitly taught

Structuring responses, managing time under pressure, and reading stimulus and case-study material properly.

Online, with face-to-face available

Sessions run online by default across Sydney, with face-to-face available upon request.

Progress you can see

Parents receive updates on what's been covered and where the student stands heading into each assessment.

Ongoing sessions

Weekly recurring sessions build steadily toward each assessment, with adjustments as the syllabus and calendar demand.

Student & parent feedback

Results, in their own words.

"I had the privilege of being taught by Mr Harris for both Legal Studies and Business Studies throughout Year 11 and 12. Reflecting on my HSC journey, I can say with absolute confidence that his guidance was one of THE most decisive factors behind my success, with HSC scores of 96 in Legal Studies and 90 in Business Studies."

Fawwaz Mo · Legal Studies & Business Studies, Year 12 · 96 in Legal Studies, 90 in Business Studies

"I have had Mr Harris as my year 11 and 12 high school teacher for legal studies in my HSC course, and I had the best experience learning under the experience and knowledge Mr Harris has, and is willing to share. I cannot emphasise how well his teaching style was and how it completely impacted the way I think and work towards the best mark possible."
